In 2003 the vineyard was planted with 2 hectares of Pinot Noir, followed 4 years later by a small amount of Riesling.
Two meter wide rows and 1.2 meter plant spacing were used to reduce vegetative growth and help ensure quality fruit. Together with low cropping, hand tending and hand harvesting, much effort is put in to ensure we produce clean concentrated grapes.
Renowned blind wine maker C.P. Lin was engaged to make the wines and the first vintage of Pinot Noir was produced in 2008, followed four years later by our first vintage of Riesling. With the increasing profile of the Waipara Valley region and the growth of knowledge of our own terroir, we endeavour to produce that magical wine.
